Health, safety and security

Every learner deserves to feel safe

Governance, staff procedures, visitor controls and family responsibilities work together to protect pupils, employees and visitors.

A shared duty of care

GPS recognises that employees, pupils and visitors are entitled to a safe and healthy environment in which to work, learn and observe. The Board of Governors, leadership and staff take reasonable steps to meet statutory requirements and recognised codes of practice.

Decisions consider health and safety guidance and, where needed, directives from the Ministry of Education, KHDA, DHA, Civil Defence and Dubai Municipality.

Security in practice

Preparedness

The school runs evacuation drills and maintains procedures for emergencies and safe movement around the campus.

Visible identification

Staff carry named photo ID. Visitors check in at the Welcome Desk and wear red visitor lanyards.

Controlled pupil release

Pupils are released only through the school’s authorised collection procedures.

Report lost cards

Lost or stolen school access cards should be reported immediately.

Driver and nanny identification

Parents arranging collection by a driver or nanny should provide Reception with copies of that person’s passport, UAE residence visa and Emirates ID to support the school ID process. Without valid identification, security may delay entry or pupil release while checks are completed. Late collection may incur additional childcare cost.
